OIO GOES VIRTUAL!
At Ocean Impact Organisation we’re certainly not immune to the impacts of COVID-19, and like everyone else we’re doing our best to stop the spread through social distancing and following the instructions of authorities. Whilst we’re missing our home at WOTSO Workspace Manly, the sound of the waves, and the face-to-face interaction, we’ve embraced remote working exceptionally well and are working on a short-term future that is virtual and ‘digital by design’.
As you might be aware, this year’s Bondi Ocean Lovers Festival was unfortunately forced to cancel due to COVID-19. We were very much looking forward to the festival and in particular to hosting the inaugural ‘Fish Tank - Good Ideas for the Oceans’ event. But, rather than be disappointed for too long we decided to turn the concept into a virtual event. We exist to tell the stories of, and support, ocean innovators and that mission continues even if face-to-face contact is on hold for the foreseeable future.
You can watch all the Fish Tank interviews held by Ocean Impact Organisation co-founder Tim Silverwood here.
We’re also super excited to announce the launch of The Ocean Impact Podcast on Monday. Join us on a journey of discovery as we uncover and share stories of inspiration, innovation, leadership and good business for an abundant and sustainable ocean. Stay tuned for details of a nice little launch party (virtual of course) that we’re putting together for next week to celebrate the occasion.
Over the coming weeks and we’ll be sharing a number of other virtual initiatives designed to inspire and support ocean impact innovators. Watch this space!
Please stay safe everyone. Stay connected, and let’s look out for each other. These are extraordinary times and hopefully we can take some extraordinary positives out of all of this for the sake of people and… Planet Ocean.
Thanks for joining us.
