Ep. 17 - Investing for Impact with Rob Kaplan, CEO of Circulate Capital

It’s well reported that plastic pollution leakage is a dire problem across South and South East Asia. A lack of infrastructure, education and coordinated corporate responsibility and policy has hindered effective attempts to contain the burgeoning tide of plastic products and packaging introduced to diverse cultures.

Many initiatives from grassroots to international diplomacy exist to tackle the problem in the region but our new podcast guest Rob Kaplan spotted a big gap where investments in innovative solutions for the circular economy were lacking.

Rob Kaplan is founder and CEO of Circulate Capital, a Singapore based investment firm that aims to identify, incubate and invest in opportunities that intercept sort and process ocean bound plastics. Together with some of the worlds largest brands (Coca Cola, PepsiCo, Unilever, Procter & Gamble), Rob has established the US$106m Circulate Capital Ocean Fund that is investing in innovative circular solutions in Indonesia and India.

In this episode Rob, a passionate environmentalist with a proven track record in improving recycling and advancing the circular economy in North America shares his vision for Circulate Capital and the successes he’s achieved to date.
